Welcome to my art teaching site!

I am an artist and an art educator, and I have been teaching art in San Francisco since 2005. I am currently working at SVDP (Saint Vincent De Paul) and has been working for The San Francisco Arts Education Project (SFartsED) with students from the SF Unified School system: Claire Lilienthal, Glen Park Elementary, Hillcrest, Gordon Lau, and Guadalupe. I have been teaching in three after school programs, at Holy Name School, Glen Park Elementary, and Mission Dolores Academy. I love volunteering at ArtSeed with unprivileged art students, and Kids and Art, art as therapy for children living with cancer, and also, their families. Both great Non-profit organizations.  I have a MA in Art Education from The Academy of Art University, and a BFA from Complutense University in Madrid, and a Pedagogical Adaptation Certificate (CAP) from University of Almeria, Spain.

Art creation inspires students to develop emotionally and intellectually, and I teach by scaffolding my students, guiding and encouraging them to experience their own artistic results, so they can grow and learn by creating meaning, by taking risks and creating their own experiences. I love the social interaction my students have when they are problem solving such as creating the composition for a still life drawing. I enjoy seeing these “creative spark” moments when they are learning about aesthetics and they are making their own decisions when creating.
